The story lets players experience settings in a prehistorical period, Imperial China, the Wild West, Medieval Europe, Edo Japan, the present day, the near future, and the distant future. A Square Enix classic title, its remake features a redone HD-2D style with atmospheric effects similar to what was used in the games.
will be released on Steam, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on April 27, 2023, with pre-orders available now. will retail at $50, although there currently is a 20% discount on the game for PlayStation Plus members and all Steam users who pre-order. The discount on Steam will continue through May 11, and the PlayStation Plus discount will expire on the release date of April 27.
