Square Enix has announced the launch date for the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The games will arrive in two weeks on 19th April 2023. Even more specifically, the launch time will be at 8AM PDT / 4PM BST.
Each game, from Final Fantasy I to Final Fantasy VI will be sold individually or in a collection bundle, with a limited physical edition also set to be available – this is all for the 35th anniversary of the series, after all.
The console release has been long-awaited by fans of the franchise. Originally released for PC and mobile through the second half of 2021 and early 2022, these were solid enhancements that made a number of quality of life improvements to the classic RPGs – though it’s also fair to say that not everything was perfected, such as an odd font choice.
Of course, while PC and mobile have a vast reach, there’s something about being able to play these game on a PlayStation or with the more dedicated handheld gaming of NIntendo Switch.
We look forward to getting a proper release date for these games soon.
