Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel has announced a huge update to the game's banlist with 16 different cards moving up and down the Forbidden & Limited List. Since the game's debut in January 2022, Konami has made frequent updates to the digital card game's banlist to keep powerful decks in line and adjust for upcoming releases. Last month's banlist saw Konami address the dominant «Runick» strategy by semi-limiting multiple powerful cards from the deck, including «Runick Destruction» and «Runick Slumber.» Now, the newest update tackles several of the most prevalent strategies.
Recent card releases have seen Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel's meta hit with major shifts as new strategies have been added to the game. The addition of the «Sprites of Miracle» Selection Pack saw the «Spright» archetype take over the game's meta as one of the most dominant decks available. The recently released Ishizu Ishtar-themed Monsters even saw preemptive hits from Konami, semi-limiting three of the four Monsters before their release. Now, Konami has revealed one of the biggest updates to the game's banlist yet, limiting five cards and semi-limiting four.

Konami confirmed a total of 16 different cards moving around the banlist come April 10th.The update takes a focus on powerful Trap cards preventing players from playing the game with «Skill Drain,» «Rivalry of Warlords,» and «Gozen Match» all being limited to one copy. Each of these cards were previously semi-limited to two copies with «floodgate» cards being frequent subjects of fan complaints. Konami would also hit two other powerful decks with «Floowandereeze and the Magnificent Map» and «Herald of Orange Light» both set to one copy.
