WWE has announced that John Cena will be joining the roster of playable golfers in PGA Tour 2K23 soon. John Cena is getting a huge amount of attention in the media right now as the professional wrestler and actor prepares for his WrestleMania 39 match against Austin Theory. PGA Tour 2K23 is capitalizing on the opportunity, partnering with WWE to bring Cena to the game as a guest golfer. PGA Tour 2K23 players won't have to wait long to play as Cena, either.
PGA Tour 2K23 launched in October 2022 across all major platforms. While reception for the new golf game has proven mixed, many golf fans are simply happy to have the PGA Tour 2K series returning since its last release in 2020. While PGA Tour 2K23 doesn't have a huge roster of playable golfers, it does have a mix of both professionals and celebrities. Celebrities, for example, include basketball stars Michael Jordan and Steph Curry.

John Cena will be the latest celebrity to join the roster of PGA Tour 2K23's playable golfers. In an announcement made on 2K's official Twitter account, it was confirmed that Cena will be playable in-game starting on April 7. The tweet makes a joke referencing Cena's popular catchphrase, «You can't see me,» saying that PGA Tour 2K23 fans didn't see this announcement coming.
A screenshot of Cena in-game was also shared as part of the announcement. Cena is wearing red white and blue golf gear, a common color scheme that the WWE wrestler has used throughout the years. While the PGA Tour 2K23 character does capture Cena's facial features, it's also fair to say that it may not fully capture Cena's bulk.
