TT Games’ Lego formula has proven to be extremely resilient, spawning literally dozens of popular games, and yet, surprisingly, very few other developers have tried to copy it. Well, that changes now, as Funko Fusion, a new crossover co-op game featuring the Funko Pops that take up half the shelf space in every GameStop has been announced.
Funko Fusion is the work of 10:10 Games, a new large-scale studio staffed by former TT Games devs, including that studio’s founder Jon Burton. It seems the game is being published by Universal, and thus will focus on their IP, but hey, NBCUniversal owns a lot of stuff. The first teaser trailer for Funko Fusion teases content based on Jurassic World, Masters of the Universe, The Thing, Back to the Future, The Umbrella Academy, Shawn of the Dead, Battlestar Galactica, and more. As you may have gathered from some of the IPs I just listed, it seems like Funko Fusion will be less specifically kid-focused than TT Games’ Lego titles. You can check out the first teaser trailer for Funko Fusion, below.
“Funko Fusion is a wild 4-player adventure featuring a wide array of characters from NBCUniversal's vast library of stories. Players can choose from dozens of playable characters, which are designed to faithfully represent why they've captured our imaginations – and shelf space – for so long. Funko Fusion is the debut title from 10:10 Games, a studio co-founded by five-time BAFTA award winner and TT Games founder Jon Burton and a team of experienced developers known for their work on brick-based games.
Funko Fusion features dozens of playable characters in Funko Pop! form from popular NBCUniversal stories, in addition to other properties, each with their own unique personalities and abilities.
