Harrison Ford returns to play Indiana Jones once again for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, but don't expect the Oscar-nominated actor to ever wield the whip again.
Speaking to Total Film, Ford made his intentions pretty clear: «This is the final film in the series, and this is the last time I'll play the character.»
Ford went on to say that he also believes that The Dial of Destiny will be the «last time» that Indiana Jones the character appears in a movie. Given the big success of the Indiana Jones series, it would be surprising if Indiana Jones the character went away for good, but who knows what could happen.
There have been reports of a new Indiana Jones TV series for Disney Plus but Ford said he «will not be involved in that, if it does come to fruition.»
Ford plays Indiana Jones for the last time in The Dial of Destiny, which releases in theaters on June 30. Ford said The Dial of Destiny ends his run as Indiana Jones «not with a whimper, but a bang.»
In addition to Indiana Jones, Ford is known for playing Han Solo in the Star Wars series. He earned an Academy Award nomination for 1985's Witness and also starred in the movies The Fugitive, Blade Runner, Clear and Present Danger, and Air Force One. He stars on the new Apple TV series Shrinking.
Beyond The Dial of Destiny and the reported TV show, Wolfenstein developer MachineGames is developing a new Indiana Jones game. Bethesda boss Todd Howard--a big fan of the series--is an executive producer on the forthcoming title.
