World of Warcraft: Dragonflight's next update will introduce a new dungeon that will plunge players back in time to witness the fall of the greatest enemy the dragon aspects have ever-faced: the monstrous proto-dragon Galakrond.
Dragonflight's major 10.1 update may have just been released, but Blizzard is already detailing what's next for the MMORPG, and there's a lot to take in. Titled Fractures in Time, the update will introduce an eight boss mega-dungeon called Dawn of the Infinite, where players will be hurtled through time to prevent the Infinite Dragonflight from triggering Nozdormu's fabled transformation into the evil Murazond.

Along the way players will battle not only a version of current baddie Iridikron, but also come face to face with Galakrond himself. Players have long speculated that Galakrond, who factors heavily into the origin story of the dragon aspects, would show up in Dragonflight in some form. Now that the news is official, it's kind of a big deal. Galakrond is the greatest foe the dragon aspects ever encountered, and it was their heroic stand against the gigantic, corrupted proto-dragon that saw the Keeper Tyr lift them up as magically imbued protectors of Azeroth. Blizzard has clarified that players won't be fighting against Galakrond perse, but will instead be «facing the fallout from Galakrond's demise.»
