Random: Battle Tapes' New Music Video Is Packed with PS1 Nostalgia | Push Square
Whether you've heard of electronic rock band Battle Tapes or not, you're bound to enjoy their latest music video if you're a PlayStation fan. 'Brand New', the band's latest single, is absolutely packed with PS1 nostalgia.
The whole thing's been masterfully rendered and animated in a typical polygonal PS1 style by 3D artist @Hoolopee, and it features a bunch of references to classics like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII, and Tomb Raider (yes, the drummer's dressed as Ms. Croft).
There's even a homage to the iconic PS1 startup sequence at the end of the video. Good taste.
Of course, it also helps that the song's a bit of a banger. Battle Tapes have been crafting earworms since 2010, but this has to be our favourite music video from the band — for obvious reasons!
Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.
