Cyberpunk 2077’s first and only paid expansion Phantom Liberty still doesn’t have a release date. Fortunately, CD Projekt RED will start sharing more details in June. Given the timing of the Summer Game Fest and Xbox Games Showcase (where Cyberpunk 2077 was officially revealed), it could appear in either of those shows.
The expansion will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PC and PS5. It features a new Night City district and the return of Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand. He’s not the only star involved, as Idris Elba plays Solomon Reed, an agent for the FIA. As for the story, all we know is it involves working with the New United States of America and interacting with Militech, Arasaka’s nemesis.
It does have the biggest budget yet for a CD Projekt RED expansion so that counts for something. A “Game of the Year Edition” will also launch after Phantom Liberty and more updates are to come for the cop systems, Cyberware and melee combat. Stay tuned for more details in June.
