The Pax Dei team at Mainframe Industries has released two new videos showing off a character walking through a town and a peek at the building system during the day and at night.
These aren’t just videos of walking around. The upcoming cloud-native sandbox MMORPG features everything player-built, from buildings, to the towns themselves, and more. The daytime video shows off some of the building process. A character walks around in and around some buildings, showing us a little bit of character movement, which is smooth, and entry into and out of buildings in a town.
We even get a peek at a crafting recipe: “Spinning Wheel Tier 1: The briar bears much that would prick a finder. the spindle hides its thorn.” with options to craft the item or examine. These clips were taken from the ongoing closed alpha. So the playable test build is still in need of work, but gives us more of a look than we’ve seen since the game wasformally announced last month.
We move towards another figure, and see the house in front of her begin to change. This is the building demonstration. She is named Builder Caytlin, and she uses tools to knock down some walls, put up some new ones, create a roof, and make all sorts of improvements.
The nighttime building demo in the second video is just a minute long, and features some of the same movement around the town. It also gives us a real opportunityto see the difference in the lighting effects in both day and night. since the game clearly features day and night cycles, having both of these videos come out of the same time is a welcome preview.
As for the actual building? This short clip is more of a night tour, though we briefly see Builder Caytlin pass by.
