According to well-known industry insider Shinobi, in the wake of a new PlayStation showcase, there are plenty of development teams ready to show off their upcoming games.
Last month, we reported on a rumor from Jeff Grubb who said that Sony is planning to air a new PlayStation showcase before Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest 2023. As this event is taking place next month on June 8, this rumored showcase is said to be taking place this month, or possibly, in the first week of June. More recently, Grubb said it's safe to say that Sony's showcase will take place this month.
At the same time, Shinobi also appeared to tease something related to the rumored PlayStation showcase on the ResetEra forums. "I mean...it's not that early", the insider replied when another ResetEra user that it's too early for Sony's studios to show off their new games.
Fast forward a few weeks, and Shinobi has now again taken to the ResetEra forums in the PlayStation Studios thread and said that, while he doesn't exactly know Sony's plans for a showcase, he does know that there are plenty of studios ready to show their new titles at this point.
"To be clear, I don't know what Sony's exact plans are when it comes to a showcase or State of Plays and all that", Shinobi wrote. "But I know a good amount of teams are at a point where things are certainly ready to be shown. That's exciting."
Of course, these are merely rumors for now as Sony has yet officially announced a new PlayStation Showcase. Last year's PlayStation State of Play event did also take place in early June - a few days before Keighley's Summer Game Fest 2022.
