The next few weeks will see a string of major gaming events, with a number of publishers and developers throughout the industry gearing up to show what they have in the pipeline for the coming months and years. One of those events, Summer Game Fest, is set for June 8, and with less than a month to go, new details on it are beginning to emerge.
Taking recently to Twitter, Summer Game Fest producer Geoff Keighley revealed that the event will see over 40 partners taking part in varying capacities. A number of major companies are mention, including the likes of EA, Microsoft, CD Projekt RED, Sony, Ubisoft, Activision, Disney, and more.
Microsoft does have its own event planned less than a week on from Summer Game Fest with the Xbox Games Showcase, while leaks have strongly suggested that Sony has a PlayStation Showcase scheduled for the week of May 25. Meanwhile, a Ubisoft Forward event is also set for June 12. CD Projekt RED confirmed earlier this year that it would begin talking about Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty in June.
Like last year, Microsoft and Ubisoft’s showcases are affiliated with Summer Game Fest, and while that’s unlikely to be the case with the PlayStation Showcase, it’s possible that Sony has an announcement reserved for the June event. For instance, last year, The Last of Us Part 1 was announced at Summer Game Fest.
Other companies mentioned in the list of Summer Game Fest partners include Capcom, Bandai Namco, Square Enix, WB Games, Epic Games, Sega, and more. You can check out the full list below (via Gematsu).
