A Valheim player has built an incredible cathedral in the Meadows biome in the game's creative mode. Hammer mode was added to Valheim last year, and players have already built impressive monuments utilizing the lack of limitations.
Iron Gate Studio continues to update Valheim through its early access, adding new biomes, enemies, and materials. The next major content patch is expected to flesh out Valheim's Ashlands biome in the game by making it a volcanic nightmare full of undead mobs. Since being added to the game in 2022, players have been exploring The Mistlands to acquire Yggdrasil Wood, Black Marble, and Royal Jelly. There are currently six fully realized biomes, with two more coming in the future. Despite the variety, some players continue to choose to build in the biome that they start in, the Meadows. One player has decided to create a massive cathedral as their Meadows base, and it includes a whopping number of resources.
Reddit user Eicr-5 recently shared 13 images of their Valheim cathedral build, highlighting every angle from the inside and out. Two towers are placed next to the main entrance which has intricately designed windows above its doors. The windows on either side of the cathedral have either a diamond or circular-shaped pattern made of wood, and a central window resembles the ones above the entrance. The tallest point of the cathedral is 80 meters high, and the ceiling reaches 38 meters. The building is based on the Reims Cathedral in France, and it's primarily composed of Valheim Black Marble, Darkwood, Iron, and Wood.
According to Eicr-5, the cathedral has been built in Valheim Creative mode, and debug was activated using console commands to simplify the experience. Hammer mode permitted this gamer to make the cathedral without its massive material requirements, while debug likely made piecing it together less of a hassle.
