Bungie will show off Destiny 2’s next expansion, The Final Shape, later today.
A Destiny 2: The Final Shape developer gameplay preview will be live streamed from 9.30am PT / 12.30pm ET / 5.30pm BST.
It will be viewable on Bungie’s Twitch and YouTube channels, and you’ll be able to watch it live via the video embedded above.
Bungie officially delayed The Final Shape in November. Originally given a February 27, 2024 release date, The Final Shape is now scheduled to launch on June 4.
“The Final Shape is the culmination of the first ten years of Destiny storytelling and, for Guardians everywhere, countless hours spent together,“ read a message published at the time and attributed to the game’s development team.
“We want to honor that journey, so we’re taking the time we need to deliver an even bigger and bolder vision, one that we hope will be remembered and treasured for years to come.”
“In The Final Shape, Guardians will pursue the Witness into the Pale Heart of the Traveler, rally the Vanguard, and seek to end the War of Light and Darkness,” according to Bungie.
Following declining Destiny 2 player numbers and layoffs at Bungie, the studio reportedly has a lot riding on The Final Shape.
It was reported in December that the studio’s position as an independent subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment was under threat.
IGN claimed the company’s current board structure is contingent on Bungie hitting certain financial goals, and that if it fails to do so Sony can choose to dissolve the board and assume full control.
