The latest trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has shown off a bit of a redesign for Future Gohan, one that has received mixed responses from fans.
Although we might not have seen the end of the dreaded "Wishlist Now" message in last week's Master vs Apprentice trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, we did at least see a bunch of new characters in action, such as Beerus, Whis, Videl, and more. One of the most exciting reveals was that the most tragic version of Gohan, Future Gohan, will be a playable character, complete with his canonical one-armed look.
Future Gohan is an incredibly important character in Dragon Ball Z, but his status as someone who was really only shown in a side story made his appearance in Sparking Zero a big unknown. Now that he's here, though, fans have spotted something rather strange about his design that differs from how he's usually portrayed.
As spotted by Redditor Sauza_io on the Budokai Tenkaichi subreddit, Future Gohan's hair has strangely been made a lot longer than it usually is in Sparking Zero. It's a detail that I didn't notice when I first watched the trailer, but after seeing it again and comparing it to the show and older games, it's noticeably lengthier in Sparking Zero.
No one is really sure why Future Gohan has been slightly redesigned like this, but the responses to it so far have been mixed. Some think that it's a nice callback to his design in Dragon Ball Z when he was a "Teen" (even if that's not accurate), while others think that it's a noticeable mistake. Either way, though, it's clear that his model has been changed from how he appears in other games.
Future Gohan's hair here actually makes him resemble how Gohan looked in the Cell Saga, right down to one spiky bang clearly sticking out.
