Epic Games has started teasing Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3 by sending merchandise to influencers that all but confirms the post-apocalypse theme hinted at in the roadmap leak.
Chapter 5, Season 1 of Fortnite was unarguably one of the most exciting times for the game, as it introduced a ton of new modes like Lego Fortnite and Fortnite Festival while also bringing in fan-requested crossovers like Family Guy and Metal Gear Solid. Season 2, on the other hand, hasn't made much of an impact at all, which makes the leap into Season 3 even more exciting than usual.
We're only a week away from Chapter 5, Season 3's launch on May 24 and, as it always does, Epic Games has sent packages out to influencers and content creators to tease what we can expect to see in the game next. These teases are sometimes vague and supposed to get the community hunting (like the alien postcards from a few years ago), but this time around it's much simpler.
As reported by reliable Fortnite insider iFireMonkey, Twitch partner and Twitter user thesquatingdog shared an image of a package that he received from Epic Games, which included a radio-controlled car and a license plate saying "Eat Nitro". He also received a letter from Epic that reveals the name of Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3 is "Wrecked".
It's pretty clear from the radio-controlled car and faded license plate that this season is going to have a heavier focus on vehicles than we've seen in Fortnite previously, but the letter that came with the package specifically points out that Wrecked will take place in a "contested wasteland", confirming that it's going to have some Mad Max post-apocalypse vibes.
