Although the potential for a fourth game or DLC is obvious, Larian is choosing to go in a different direction, with the studio working on multiple games that have nothing to do with the license. Although it may be some time yet before they're revealed, that certainly won't stop speculation about what could be coming next.

The game's approach to its references is generally done tastefully, with a large focus on maintaining strong writing and a believable world rather than tossing things aside to score points based on familiarity or simple gags. It makes sense that some Easter eggs would be used to tease future projects, but it isn't necessarily something that most of the community has been looking for until now.

As noted by Reddit user truebma, the information about teases within comes courtesy of a Future Games Show interview with Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke, available on the official FGS YouTube channel. When asked about undiscovered Easter eggs within the game, Vincke answers that one of the writers included a reference to the next game. If this has been discovered, he isn't aware of it, setting up a tantalizing challenge for the community.

And so the interesting thing is that we did the same thing with DOS 2 — Divinity: Original Sin 2 — we put in references to BG3 in there. Nobody found them. At least not that I'm aware.
