After a year since Paramount Pictures had confirmed the development of, writer and producer Seth Rogen has finally shared a new production update regarding the animated sequel’s current status. The sequel is currently scheduled for an October 9, 2026 theatrical release.
During a recent interview, Rogen confirmed that they already have a title and a storyboard for the highly-anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem sequel. In the 2023 movie, Rogen wasn’t only involved behind-the-scenes, but was also part of its all-star voice cast. He lent his voice to the mutant warthog named Bebop.
“There is a title, and it’s awesome, but I don’t think I can say it,” Rogen said (via ComicBook). “But when it came up on the screen, I stood up and cheered. There’s an animatic — there’s a storyboarded version of the whole movie, so they’re working on it right now.”
The sequel will once again be directed by Jeff Rowe. However, this time, he will be joined by co-directors Yashar Kassai and Kyle Spears. Before returning to the sequel, the main cast will first reprise their roles in the upcoming Paramount+ spin-off series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, including Micah Abbey as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Brady Noon as Raphael and Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil. It will start streaming on August 9.
