Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been on a constant downward slice since pretty much the day of its release, with its lukewarm critical reception and commercial failure being reflected in its thoroughly underwhelming post-launch support– which, unfortunately, has taken another bit of a hit (though maybe not a particularly major one).
Developer Rocksteady Studios recently announced that Suicide Squad would be getting its second season of post-launch content on July 11, bringing, among other things, a new playable character in the form of Mrs. Freeze, an Elseworlds variant of iconic Batman villain Mr. Freeze.
That, however, has been pushed back by a couple of weeks. Taking to Twitter, Rocksteady announced in a short message that season 2 of the open world looter shooter will now arrive on July 25. No reason was provided for the delay.
“Update: Task Force X, we’ll be adjusting the release timing for the next season, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Season 2 will now launch on July 25. Thank you for your patience,” the developer wrote.
Given that this is a game that’s already in desperate need of new content, maybe delaying a new season of content isn’t the best course of action, even if it’s a slight delay, and even if season 2 isn’t looking like it’s going to be the solution to the game’s problems by any means.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
