Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has been officially rated in Singapore, with a potential release window of 2024 attached alongside it.
Ever since Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero was announced at The Game Awards last year, Bandai Namco has been pretty forthcoming with information about the title and which characters will make up its absolutely massive roster, promising a new trailer every month up to launch. Unfortunately, the one thing it hasn't budged on this entire time is the release date, and fans are being kept in the dark as to whether the game will launch this year or 2025.
Thankfully, people have been keeping an eye on ratings boards for any indicator of a potential release window, and following an ESRB rating in March that raised fans' hopes, the game has now been rated in Singapore (thanks Exputer). Of course, it's not all that unusual for games to be rated months before launch or reveal, but what makes this rating interesting is that it claims Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will launch in 2024.
There's also the elephant in the room that ratings can be pretty shaky at the best of times, and usually aren't a great indicator as to a game's official release window. However, it's worth noting that Singapore does have a history of leaking vague release windows, as a rating for a game called Unknown 9: Awakening with a 2024 release window was found before it was confirmed during its official announcement earlier this year.
Interestingly enough, Unknown 9: Awakening and Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero also share the same publisher, Bandai Namco. With this new rating and the game's recent ESRB rating, it feels pretty likely that Sparking Zero is set to release sooner rather than later. It would also line up pretty well with Dragon Ball's 40th anniversary, which takes place on November 20 this year, so I think all you Dragon Ball fans can start getting your hopes up a little.
