The launch trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2's upcoming Future Saga has revealed that the final new character included in the DLC is a new version of Broly who can finally use transformations.
Although most Dragon Ball fans have their attention solely focused on Sparking Zero and its presumed release later this year, that hasn't stopped the momentum of other DBZ games. Not only is Xenoverse 2 finally getting a current-gen update next month, but it's also getting some brand-new content thanks to the release of the Future Saga DLC pack in just a few days.
Previous trailers for the Future Saga DLC have already confirmed that it'll include new Ultra Supervillain variants of Vegeta and Goku Black (who is finally getting to use his iconic scythe) alongside new versions of Android 18 and Videl, but they also teased another mysterious addition to the roster. After months of speculation, we finally know that the final character is a new version of the Dragon Ball Z iteration of Broly.
Despite only being in a few movies and never officially being part of the anime or manga, Broly has always stood out as one of the most popular Dragon Ball Z villains. He's been well-represented in Dragon Ball games up to now, including in Xenoverse 2, where he takes up a few roster slots based on his DBZ and Super appearances.
This new version of Broly, called "Broly (Restrained", is based on his appearance in the film that introduced him - Dragon Ball Z: The Legendary Super-Saiyan. While most of Broly's playable appearances in Dragon Ball games are based on that titular transformation, the Future Saga variant is based on how he appears at the start of the movie.
It's already a treat to get to play as a non-Legendary Super Saiyan Broly, but this new Future Saga version of the character also finally gives him a transformation move.
