In their latest blog post, Blizzard announced a «new PvE End-Game Co-Op Activity» coming to Diablo 4 with Vessel of Hatred, which will be released on October 8. As expected, Blizzard's announcement that Raids will be a thing in Diablo 4 remains quite vague about four months before the expansion launch.

The image itself doesn't provide much information about raiding in Diablo 4. However, just looking at this concept art alone creates the impression of a vast raid dungeon instead of simple, one-dimensional boss arenas like the World Bosses we know currently live in. Blizzard also mentions that the activity will be the «first of its kind to Diablo,» raising hopes that more complex endgame gameplay could be involved.
It has to be mentioned that the concept of raids is not unfamiliar in the Diablo universe. Back in 2022, Diablo Immortal introduced Helliquary raids, an 8-player raid activity, to its array of endgame features. Encounters behind this raid feature were quite challenging and popular, especially in the earlier stages of character progression. Much like World Boss fights back in Diablo 4's beta, encounters against bosses like Lassal or Vitaath took up to 15 minutes and, for a mobile game in particular, took quite a bit of strategic thinking. Unfortunately, just like in Diablo 4 right now, the Helliquary boss fights became incredibly easy to complete with better and better gear.
