' new story trailer confirmed the appearance of one of the series' most ruthless crime syndicates, Crimson Dawn. Previously, it was known that Kay Vess would be running into three major crime families, the Hutts, the Pykes, and a completely new clan, the Ashiga, however, other known syndicates that were active at the time, Crimson Dawn, Black Sun, and Crymorah hadn't been shown.
While Black Sun and Crymorah still have yet to be seen, the Crimson Dawn is mentioned in a meeting between major organizations at the start of the trailer — which can be found on Ubisoft's YouTube channel — alongside a character who could be Qi'ra, who was the face of Crimson Dawn during this time. Qi'ra and the Crimson Dawn's role in would make perfect sense, as they played a significant role during this era, especially in their dealings with other syndicates.
Crimson Dawn is one of the most ruthless criminal syndicates with agents all over the galaxy, being led by the former Sith Lord, Darth Maul from the shadows as a successor to his Shadow Collective before Qi'ra assumed full control. The group was introduced in 2018's , but as this film underperformed at the box office and there was no sequel, Crimson Dawn hasn't been seen in the movies since. Marvel's recent comics have shown the group's actions in this time, however, and it would be extremely interesting to see if these play out in, with Kay Vess potentially witnessing or taking part in some of Qi'ra's schemes.
seems to be revisiting a very important period for the franchise that was first explored in the multimedia event , almost 30 years ago. These stories are set between the events of and, when the Empire was seemingly distracted by the growing rebellion, letting criminal organizations thrive.
