A wealth of new information about Star Wars Outlawshas been revealed, including the game’s pre-order bonuses and how fans can jump into the adventure a few days early. Ubisoft and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora developer Massive Entertainment announced that they were working on an open-world Star Wars game way back in 2021, but it wouldn’t be until the Xbox Games Showcase last June that players got their first official look at Star Wars Outlaws in action.
Set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Star Wars Outlaws puts players in the role of Kay Vess, an aspiring smuggler looking to make a name for herself in the criminal underworld of the Galaxy Far, Far Away. To do so, she will need to team up with a mysterious scoundrel named Jaylen and the assassin droid ND-5 to pull off the biggest heist the Outer Rim has ever seen. This dangerous mission will take Kay and her faithful companion Nix across various Star Wars planets and put them into contact with infamous crime lords like Jabba the Hutt.
Fans recently got to see even more of Star Wars Outlaws thanks to a new story trailer, which revealed that Kay is attempting to steal from the Zerek Besh to gain her freedom after crossing their boss Sliro. Other information was revealed on the Ubisoftwebsite, such as the game’s previously leaked August 30 release date and the Kessel Runner Bonus Pack, which will be available to everyone who pre-orders and includes special cosmetics for Kay’s speeder and spaceship, the Trailblazer. Additionally, players who purchase Star Wars Outlaws'Gold or Ultimate Editions will be able to play the game three days ahead of launch.
The Star Wars Outlaws story trailer itself is filled with cameos and Easter eggs from across the entire Star Wars saga, including appearances from nefarious criminal organizations like the Pykes and Crimson Dawn as they plot to capitalize on the ongoing civil war engulfing the galaxy.
