Many users report that their Amazon pre-orders for physical copies of two anticipated Nintendo remakes, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, have been unexpectedly canceled. Fortunately, Amazon users still have time to pre-order physical copies of the games through other retailers before they release later this year.
The remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is set to launch on May 23, when fans can jump back into Mario's quest to save Princess Peach from the X-Nauts. Its pre-order availability on Amazon and other retailers went live nearly a month ago. Thousand-Year Door's pre-orders presumably sold quite well seeing that the title is one of Nintendo's most anticipated releases of the year. However, some Amazon customers received frustrating news over the last couple of days.
Many Amazon customers who pre-ordered the two Nintendo remakes orEndless Ocean Luminous received notifications that their orders had been canceled due to inventory issues. Nintendo products on Amazon have often experienced hiccups in the past, so the issue doesn't strike long-time Nintendo fans as incredibly surprising, but it's certainly a frustrating issue nonetheless. At the time of writing, physical copies of Thousand-Year Door and Luigis Mansion 2 HD can still be pre-ordered on Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart, while physical copies of Endless Ocean Luminous can still be pre-ordered on Best Buy and GameStop.
Some affected fans report they placed their pre-orders on Amazon immediately after the listings went live, leading some to wonder whether Amazon has not just limited inventory but no inventory at all. Now, the three games are simply listed on Amazon as unavailable with no hints as to when they could be re-added. Fortunately, fans still have some time to get their pre-orders in check with Luigi's Mansion 2 HD not releasing until June 27.
