The next title in Ubisoft's long-running Assassin's Creed franchise seems to have had a version of its main menu leaked online. Assassin's Creed Red will see the series set foot in ancient Japan for the very first time, something fans have been wishing for Ubisoft to do for years. Red will also kick off Assassin's Creed Infinity, a sort of hub which will house several large Assassin's Creed games for years to come. Fans seem to be split on Ubisoft's decision to have a Call of Duty HQ-esque structure for a series of single-player experiences, and it's still not clear what exactly Assassin's Creed Infinity will entail.
First announced at a 2022 Ubisoft Forward alongside Assassin's Creed Hexe and the Assassin's Creed Jade mobile game, Red caught the attention of fans with its ancient Japanese setting and its promise to provide players a «very powerful shinobi fantasy.» Even more exciting is the game's main development studio, Ubisoft Quebec, which is known for creating fan favorites Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flagand Assassin's Cred Odyssey. Like many past Assassin's Creed titles, Red is heavily rumored to give players control of dual protagonists, a female shinobi assassin, and a male samurai, many of whom believe to be the historical figure Yasuke.
It seems that Assassin's Creed Red's main menu may have leaked online. Originally posted to r/GamingLeaksAndRumors, the photo of Red's alleged main menu has since been mysteriously removed. The menu prominently displays a black and red background which features two characters that seem to confirm Assassin's Creed Red's recent rumors: a female assassin and a male samurai. The menu clearly appears to be a work-in-progress, as text is randomly littered on the top and bottom of the screen.
Interestingly, players will seemingly have the ability to choose their character from the main menu. It's unknown if players will also be able to do so on the fly while in the game, as having to back out to the main menu each time may likely
