Tekken 8 players are repeating Tekken history by struggling to fight against Eddy Gordo, a character notorious for his fast-paced movement.
Although Tekken 8's launch was incredibly strong and seemed to set up a bright future for the game, things have turned around a bit since then. Fans have made it clear that they aren't happy with the post-launch addition of microtransactions, a battle pass, and more, which has been viewed as "scummy". You'd think the arrival of fan-favourite fighter Eddy Gordo would help that, but that's not quite the case.
Anyone who has played Tekken before can tell you that Eddy Gordo is one of the most difficult fighters to get the hang of and fight against, mostly because of his unique fast-paced moves and stances. Unsurprisingly, this is also the case in Tekken 8, which is causing a lot of players to struggle to fight against him.
Over on the Tekken 8 subreddit, one of the most popular posts over the last few days (with close to 1,000 upvotes as of the time of writing) comes from Redditor ClanA5, who shared an image of Eddy Gordo and said, "It's impressive how quickly this guy became my least favourite character". ClanA5 said that he swears every person is using him right now and he can't read him at all.
He goes on to say that what he thinks are openings actually aren't and that he gets the "s**t beaten out of him for trying". The comments are full of replies from long-term Tekken fans pointing out that he's always been like this and that it's nothing new for the series, but that he is admittedly a pain in the latest game.
Another clip from Redditor MonsetOnALeash shows one of the difficulties fighting him, as Jack-8 is shown completely missing a move against a completely motionless Eddy due to how his idle animations work. That's got to sting even more than losing to a moving opponent...
"I swear every single person is using him and I can't f***ing read him at all."
Although these challenges are nothing new to Eddy Gordo
