Silent Hill is a pretty iconic title, what with it being the start of one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time (even if Konami constantly disappoints fans). Unfortunately, the older games in the series haven't exactly aged gracefully, and even the biggest fan of the original Silent Hills has to admit they're about as easy to control as a fighter jet.
That's what makes Silent Hill streamer Punchy's recent accomplishment all the more impressive, as they recently managed to beat the first game in the series in just four hours with nothing but a dance mat and a lot of patience. First shared by GamesRadar, Punchy shared their achievement on Twitter earlier this week, with a screenshot of them on the floor and the caption "MY HIPS HURT TREMENDOUSLY". To be honest, hard same.
From this screenshot, we can see that Punchy managed to beat the game in 4 hours, 3 minutes, and 30 seconds on Hard Mode (which is ridiculous), and that they only actually had to use a 'Continue' twenty times, which is rather impressive given the lack of a controller. Punchy explains in a later comment that the first third of the game was the toughest to get through, but the game became easier as it went. They also explain that th morning after setting this run, they played DDR for three hours, so you don't need to concern yourself with their general health.
With this successful run, we can now add Punchy to the ever-growing list of gamers to beat some of the trickiest titles out there through the power of dance. Elden Ring streamer MissMikkaa is probably the most high-profile case on the list, beating Elden Ring multiple times with a dance pad, and even once whilst also playing a second game of Elden Ring with a controller.
Kingdom Hearts streamer Momo is also pretty well known for her dance pad antics, having beaten every superboss in the original Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 3 in Critical Mode with one. You also have people beating Metal Gear Solid 2 and making a mockery
