Tekken 8’s latest update patch is now live, bringing with it a host of bug fixes and other quality-of-life improvements. The latest entry in the hard-hitting Tekken franchise was released back in January and has earned rave reviews thanks to its visual presentation and more “aggressive” gameplay. Tekken 8 marks a new chapter in the far-reaching Mishima family saga, as Jin Kazama returns to his earlier role as a hero and aims to take down his father Kazuya Mishima once and for all, while a large cast of supporting characters embarks on their own connected stories through intense, one-on-one battles.
While Tekken 8 was already warmly received when it first launched, developer Bandai Namco has been refining the game through update patches throughout 2024. The most recent one, Update 1.03.01, finally introduced longtime Tekken alumni Eddy Gordo as a playable DLC character among other tweaks. However, the subsequent addition of a Tekken 8 battle pass has been met with considerable backlash, enough for some players to begin posting negative reviews on the game’s Steam page.
Despite this controversy, the developers are moving ahead with the next Tekken 8 update patch, which is now available to download as of today. Update 1.03.02 is primarily focused on fixing bugs and adjusting the balance of certain characters like Eddy Gordo and Zafina. New items are also being added to Tekken 8’s Tekken Shop, such as seven Avatar skins.
Server maintenance for Tekken 8’sUpdate 1.03.02 is already complete, so players can just dive back into the game once the latest Tekken 8 patch is finished downloading. File size information isn’t included in the patch notes, so it isn’t clear how much storage space the new update will take up or how long it will take to download. It is worth pointing out that there doesn’t appear to be any major new content in this latest patch aside from the aforementioned skins, so it should be a light download.
