Frontier Developments has announced that it is partnering with Universal Products and Experiences to develop Jurassic World Evolution 3, the next game in the dinosaur-themed zoo simulation series. Jurassic World Evolution 3 may be available for release as early as the summer of 2025.
Frontier Developments has also served as the developer of the Zoo Tycoon series of games since its inception and took over the development of the RollerCoaster Tycoon series in 2003 when the original game was ported to Xbox. However, the Jurassic World Evolution games have been the two biggest financial hits for the company, with the first two games in the series marking the top two moneymakers in terms of sales across their first two years. The Jurassic World Evolution series shares some similarities to Zoo Tycoon, in that players are tasked with creating and running a dinosaur-centric theme park for visitors to enjoy, but it includes other aspects such as sending paleontologists to dig for fossils and altering DNA to make the dinosaurs hardier and healthier.
As announced on May 9, Frontier Developments revealed that fans can expect to see Jurassic World Evolution 3 become available between June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026. The company aims to release a new creative management simulation game every year and has released four games that let players build a theme park since 2016 — Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo, andthe other two Jurassic World Evolution games. "Our Jurassic World Evolution game franchise has showcased great creative and technical expertise in CMS games and the strength of our select, develop, launch, and nurture strategy in the genre," CEO Jonny Watts said in a press release, adding that he looks forward to sharing more information as it becomes available.
