The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a global phenomenon and it seems Nintendo were well aware of how significant a launch it was going to be. The highly anticipated follow-up to one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time, in Breath of the Wild, was always going to be freighted with expectation. But that the team behind the sequel would excel and meet those expectations is some triumph.
TheGamer gave the title the full 5/5 as did a host of other outlets and the game currently has a Metacritic rating of 96, while many reviews (including our own) have said it's a major improvement on its predecessor. There's also been technical reviews of the game, which analyse its performance on the Switch. While some worried that the game would prove too big for the aging hardware, pushing the limits too far, the folks over at Digital Foundry found the console was still able to match up. Another notable thing was the game's overall polish, with DF remarking that there seemed to be very few glitches and bugs. Now, it's been reported how Nintendo got the game to such a high shine.

Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma recently gave an interview with Gene Park over at The Washington Post with the veteran game developer saying: "This game might have been a little bit tougher for me, but we got through it." Another thing that came up was when the game was actually finished and it seems it was much earlier than when it was eventually released.
In March 2022, it was announced that Tears of the Kingdom would be delayed. Now we know why. "To make sure that everything in the game was 100 percent to our standards," Aonuma told The Washington Post. Over
