After revealing that Pentiment and Grounded are coming to the Switch in the next few months, Xbox has confirmed that those two games, as well as Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves, will also be coming to PS5.
Last week, following months of rumours and leaks, Xbox confirmed that it was planning on bringing four of its exclusive titles to other consoles, but didn't go as far as revealing what they would be. Considering that announcement reportedly pushed back Nintendo's planned Partner Showcase, everyone expected to find out what at least a few of them were going to be today.
And wouldn't you have it, that's exactly what happened. Earlier today, it was revealed that Grounded and Pentiment are both coming to Nintendo Switch in the next few months, which was then followed up with a trailer that leaked that Hi-Fi Rush is coming to PS5 in March, with a physical release later confirmed by Bethesda.
With only one game left out of the four that hadn't been revealed, Xbox has opened the floodgates and revealed that Grounded, Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, and Sea of Thieves are all coming to PS5, with Switch players only getting the first two right now. Pentiment is the first game coming to other consoles on February 22, followed by Hi-Fi Rush on March 19.
After that, we'll be getting Grounded on April 16, and then Sea of Thieves on April 30. Cross-platform play has been confirmed for both Grounded and Sea of Thieves, which should provide a big boost to both playerbases.
On the Xbox Wire post confirming which games are going to be coming to other consoles, Xbox's president of game content and studios, Matt Booty, said, "These titles join franchises like Minecraft, Call of Duty, Overwatch and Diablo – which already reach players and fans on multiple platforms – and we’re excited for more players to experience these worlds and stories on more platforms."
