Rare tease Sea of Thieves on PlayStation and Switch
Rare have attempted a Valentines poem which included rather blatant hint that Sea of Thieves would be heading to PlayStation and Switch. “Rowboats are red, And sometimes they’re blue, Other times they’re green, Occasionally they can be white…” they tweeted.
Those being the colours associated with the consoles and PC, red for Nintendo, blue for Sony, green for Xbox and white for PC/Steam.

Rumours of Xbox exclusive games being ported to rival consoles have been racing around the internet for the last week, prompting Microsoft to confirm an “Xbox Business update” which will happen today via the Official Xbox Podcast. Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, and Matt Booty will be letting everyone know what the future of the Xbox brand is. The podcast will be available to listen to at 12PM PT/ 3PM ET/ 8PM GMT.
Rumours that Sea of Thieves would go multi platform started earlier this year when Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb said “Sea of Thieves, I’ll say I’ve heard that that was one that might be coming to other platforms, When I first started hearing these rumours, I was like, this is probably about Sea of Thieves, because I’ve heard that could come to Switch and PlayStation.”
Further rumours grew of Starfield, Indiana Jones & more Xbox games coming to PS5, last week and was quickly followed up by a confirmation from Phil Spencer that an update would be given this week. Today, Starfield PS5 rumours were walked back and Phil Spencer gave reassurance to Xbox employees. Those reassurances included the fact that Microsoft would not be exiting the console hardware business, something that has been speculated about.
The most likely situation is that Microsoft will look to selectively port and release their games on other platforms, as they have done in rare instances in the past – Ori and the Blind Forest on Switch,
