Star Wars Battlefront: Classic Collection has somehow messed up the iconic loading screens by messing up the sound effects that play during them.
When the Star Wars Battlefront: Classic Collection was announced last month, it felt like a gift from George Lucas himself. Fans have been asking for these classics to make their way to modern consoles for decades now and iAspyr was finally making it happen with what looked to be some notable improvements to the graphics and multiplayer modes.
That isn't exactly how it's gone down, though. The Star Wars Battlefront: Classic Collection launched yesterday and is currently sitting at a "Mostly Negative" rating on Steam, with players furious about the server issues, bugs, missing features, and an overall lack of polish that the PS2 classics deserve.
There are a lot of issues with the Classic Collection currently, especially when it comes to the hyped-up multiplayer aspects of the two games, but there are a select few that have really started to bug fans. The biggest example of this is something that's quite small in the grand scheme of things, but is an element of the first game that is very nostalgic - the iconic loading screens.
If, like most Star Wars fans, you spent much of your childhood playing the first Battlefront game, then you no doubt remember the loading screens of the first Battlefront, which would show a planet slowly being zoomed in on from space while a machine beeps and boops in the background.
For some strange reason, the Classic Collection version of Star Wars Battlefront has changed the iconic beeping noises that take place as the planet is being zoomed in on, as they're much lower pitched and slower-paced. It's not clear why this has been changed, with some fans on the Battlefront subreddit suspecting that it's a sound processing issue, but it's still not a great look (or sound) for the collection.
