Sony has officially confirmed 12 games that will be joining the Extra tier of its PlayStation Plus subscription service in April 2024. Thanks to previous release date announcements, PlayStation Plus subscribers already knew about two of the games coming to PS Plus Extra ahead of time.
It was previously confirmed that Dave the Diver and Tales of Kenzera: Zau would be coming to PS Plus Extra in April 2024. Dave the Diver is coming on April 16 alongside the other new additions, while Tales of Kenzera: Zau will be joining the lineup a little bit later, on April 23. Now PS Plus Extra subscribers have the full rundown of what to expect from the April 2024 lineup, with all the games coming on April 16 besides Tales of Kenzera.
On April 16, PS Plus Extra subscribers can look forward to playing Construction Simulator, Dave the Diver, Deliver Us Mars, LEGO Marvel's Avengers, LEGO Ninjago Movie Videogame, Miasma Chronicles, Nour: Play With Your Food, Oddballers, Raji: An Ancient Epic, Stray Blade, and The Crew 2. Most of the games are playable on PS4 as well as PS5, though Miasma Chronicles, Stray Blade, and the April 23 addition Tales of Kenzera: Zau are all PS5-only, so subscribers should keep that in mind.
Not only did Sony pull the curtain back on the new PS Plus Extra games coming in April 2024, it also revealed one of the games joining the lineup in May 2024 as well. Sony has announced that Animal Well is joining PS Plus Extra and Premium as a day one release on May 9. Animal Well is only coming to PS5, so it's another PS Plus Extra game that subscribers who have yet to upgrade their console will miss out on, unfortunately.
As time goes on, PlayStation Plus subscribers can expect more and more focus to be placed on the PS5 over the PS4. It will likely be years before PS Plus is phased out for PS4 owners entirely, but it will happen eventually. As some may recall, PS Plus used to have benefits for PS3, PSP, and PS Vita back in the day, though those perks no longer exist.
