With how bad the game's launch was in 2021, most fans probably didn't expect it to last as long as it did, but Battlefield 2042 improved over time, fixing the various issues and continued adding new features and content to help the game reach new heights while fostering a bigger community.
For all of the momentum that Battlefield 2042 has earned recently, EA is planning to turn the page to what's next for the franchise. It was recently confirmed that Season 7 would be the final one for Battlefield 2042, as the franchise General Manager Byron Beede revealed that resources were being moved to the next game. However, while the content is set to come to an end, the game will still receive periodic updates to ensure a healthy experience for those still playing, DICE is planning to use Season 7 to send the game off with a bang.
Following the Battlefield 2042 Season 7 launch back on March 19, DICE has published a content roadmap to detail all of the things that players can expect to see throughout the Spring and into the Summer. Details were light on some of the upcoming events and future updates, but the roadmap gave fans a general idea of what to expect and when.
Coming on April 16, Battlefield 2042 is set to kick off the first of two limited-time events during Season 7 with Crimson Front, while the second, called Future Strike, has a more vague release window of May-June. Unfortunately, DICE hasn't provided any details on what players can expect, though with Crimson Front nearing release, news should be arriving sooner than later.
