A Skyrim streamer online has developed an awesome mod that allows their Twitch chat to speak in place of NPCs, with hilarious results. While the Skyrim modding scene is among the most active in any game, this particular creation is some of the most unique work to emerge in a long time.
One of the reasons why Skyrim remains so active almost 13 years after its initial launch is down to its incredible modding community. On PC, the game has been transformed, and those willing to put the time in can make a 2011 release look like a new 2024 title. With The Elder Scrolls 6 presumably a few years away yet, it’ll be interesting to see how much the modding community can continue raising the bar in that time.
Blurbss posted the footage of their amazing Skyrim mod on Reddit, in which his Twitch chat speaks on behalf of the game’s NPCs using voice AI. It goes about as well as one might expect. According to Blurbss, it isn’t just one mod that can be uploaded for others to use, although they plan on sharing more information in the future on how to do it. One of the most interesting parts of the mod is how it uses AI voices to work properly. While there are very real ethical concerns over the use of AI in gaming, this likely doesn’t fall under that category, where no one is losing work to make this function as intended.
All the time, it seems as though new mods are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in Skyrim. It’s amazing to watch, but there’s no doubt a growing desire for The Elder Scrolls 6 to finally be released. The good news is that The Elder Scrolls
