Fortunately, that can be fixed thanks to the «Lockpicking Redone» mod by vTemporalZEROv who shared the add-on to Nexus Mods. Put very simply, the mod makes locks significantly harder to pick but also tweaks the mechanic to be more realistic by giving players just a single Bobby Pin that doesn't snap in two if the correct angle isn't located. According to the creator, in real life "" so it seemed unrealistic to have them shatter by applying a relatively small amount of pressure in the incorrect location.

To compensate for the lack of breakable Bobby Pins, vTemporalZEROv explains that, much like in reality,locks are significantly more challenging to crack. While the default «sweet spot» variable on an «Easy» lock is 80, the add-on reduces that to 12.5, making precision and patience a necessity. To make matters even more complicated, «Very Hard» locks, which usually have a variable of 20, now have a variable of 5, making them next to impossible to pick without some serious dedication and a deft hand.
The «Lockpicking Redone» mod does at least include the ability to craft an «Uber Pin» which can make some of the tougher locks more manageable.
