Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is set to premiere on Netflix on October 10th, as confirmed by the streaming service. This show should not be confused with the Tomb Raider show officially that is being created for Amazon being written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, with Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft being an animated series.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft picks up where the recent game trilogy left off, which included Tomb Raider 2013, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The series serves as a narrative bridge connecting the new trilogy with the earlier Tomb Raider games that are set further along in Lara Croft’s life. While the exact number of episodes has not been confirmed, Netflix did make the initial order for two seasons.
Hayley Atwell has been cast in the role of Lara Croft, with Earl Baylon reprising his role as Jonah Maiava and Allen Maldonado voicing Zip. Tasha Huo, who previously worked on The Witcher: Blood Origin, serves as the showrunner for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft and is also involved with the Red Sonja project.
