has just gotten a big addition with the release of an expansion pass, but whether this DLC is actually worth the purchase is a much more contentious issue. Although is a polished remake of the classic acclaimed RPG, it's always been subject to some criticism over the exclusion of some significant content that appeared in prior editions of The expansion pass solves one big issue in this regard – with the caveat of requiring an extra chunk of cash, a decision that may not go down smoothly.
The expansion pass was announced as part of the March 2024 Xbox Partner Preview showcase, which aired barely over a month after the official release of the game in February. It was released on March 12 for a retail price of $34.99, while Xbox Game Pass users can access it for free with their subscription. This fee is on top of the base game, which costs $69.99 for a standard copy and more for deluxe options.
There's no way to talk about the value of the expansion pass without discussing how much the release strategy feels like a cash grab. The $69.99 price point for was already a lot to ask for a remake of the base game, which excluded material added in the popular and versions. The biggest loss was arguably the epilogue called "" from, which has a lot of grinding and repeated enemies but adds to the story in a meaningful (if divisive) way.

It's nice to see taking the necessary step to become a properly definitive version of the game (although still has a unique claim in the addition of a female protagonist), but it's a frustrating release
