In an unusual move, Deliver Us the Moon and Deliver Us Mars developer KeokeN Interactive has uploaded a video in which it has revealed prototypes for five project that it’s got in the pipeline. The “urgent” video was uploaded by the developer in the hopes of spreading the word about its projects and secure a publishing deal. KeokeN says this comes on the back of the past two years, where it has pitched these five projects to 40 publishers in over 200 pitch meetings with no success.
In an accompanying press release (via Pure Xbox), KeokeN Interactive co-founders Koen and Paul Deetman said: “After pitching these 5 games over 200 times with 40+ publishers, it was time to call upon our greatest strength: our community and network. It’s our last resort. We will not go down without a fight, and what better way than to fight with everything we’ve created.
“Our entire team has poured their heart and dedication into these games. The amount and diversity of these games are not the result of a lack of focus or vision. It’s a testament to our adaptability and to how hard we’ve tried to make it work during continually shifting winds and exceptionally hard times in the industry. More than anything else, we love and want to continue making games.”
Three of the five project prototypes that the developer has revealed are set in the Deliver Us series. There’s Deliver Us Home, a sequel to Deliver Us Mars, described as “a game about finding home” that will “try to do a lot more with player agency” than its predecessors, including suit upgrades, improved progression, and more options and variety in how to tackle challenges and obstacles.
Then there’s Deliver Us the Moon: Huygens, a spinoff that is set during the Blackout that happens in the original game, which will have “a very interesting way of playing with player choice”.
