Plankton: The Movie Trailer Unveils Netflix’s SpongeBob SquarePants Spin-off
Netflix has released the official trailer for its newest SpongeBob SquarePants spin-off, which will now center around the titular villain and his robot wife, Karen. The film is scheduled to start streaming on Friday, March 7. This comes after last year’s adventure comedy spin-off Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, which followed the titular squirrel back to her hometown in Texas.
“Plankton’s world is flipped upside down when his plan for world domination is thwarted,” reads the official logline.

The video features Plankton as his plans for world domination get interrupted after his wife Karen has finally grown tired of him ignoring her ideas. Their sudden quarrel leads Karen to wreck havoc in Bikini Bottom. The titular villain has no choice but to partner with SpongeBob, Patrick, and the others, who will help him reconcile with Karen and stop her from taking over his plans of taking over the world.
Plankton: The Movie is directed by Dave Needham from a screenplay written by Mr. Lawrence & Kaz and Mr. Lawrence & Chris Viscardi, based on the story by Mr. Lawrence. The voice cast includes Mr. Lawrence as Plankton, Jill Talley as Karen, Tom Kenny as SpongeBob, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy, Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs, and Rodger Bumpass as Squidward. It is executive produced by Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller, with Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper providing the music.
