In a recent trailer, the Resident Evil 4 remake confirmed the return of a fan-favorite mode, as well as a special demo coming soon. The lead-up to the heavily anticipated remake of the critically acclaimed survival horror action game Resident Evil 4 has been filled with news relating to what is set to return to the game, as well as what is either new or changed.
In the original Resident Evil 4, when a player beats the game, they are given several other things they can do. There's the New Game Plus, allowing them to replay the game with all their previous gear and items. There were the two side stories starring the game's side character Ada Wong, Separate Ways and Assignment Ada, which follow her during and after the events of the main game. Lastly, there was one other mode, called The Mercenaries, serving as a game mode where players take on Ganados with several characters from the Resident Evil franchise for higher scores.

A new trailer was shown for the Resident Evil 4 remake during the latest State of Play, ending with the announcement that The Mercenaries is coming back. While nothing was shown of The Mercenaries game mode, its announcement is exciting. The trailer also confirmed that a «Special Demo» is coming soon.
As a whole, the trailer shows plenty to be excited about. It showcased parts of the Castle area with Leon and Luis fighting monks together, including a shot of Leon suplexing a monk. It also showed off Krauser, a boss from the original game, with the iconic knife battle between him and Leon actually being gameplay when it used to be a QTE. QTEs won't be in the Resident Evil 4 remake, so it was interesting to see how the knife fight will play out
