Now that the big changes in the Proving Grounds update are behind us, Mainframe has a new roadmap update about what’s ahead forPax Dei in Early Access.
Since the update landed, many have been exploring, rebuilding, seeing what the new home valleys are like, the new biome, and more, but this is a game in development and Early Access is going to unfold in stages. The updated roadmap shows some of what was just changed, along with updates to come.
This coming winter, includes the addition of a friends list, a compass, and support for new languages, German and French. They'll reveal more for this update closer to when it is set to drop. On the economic front, we're looking at the introduction of the gold economy and the addition of the market stall. Pax Dei has a completely player driven economy, so the introductions here are very big. They’ll get picked apart and tested out and we can expect adjustments along the way, but the timing gives the introduction of these economic systems more time to bake.
There's also a list of ongoing work, so we can expect these changes over time. we're building sets, gear, spells, key remapping, consistent work on combat and building, and of course new enemies and new stuff to do.
Sometime later during Early Access, we can expect the addition of a weather system, the introduction of farming and planters, another engine update to Unreal Engine 5.4, the introduction of gear customization, voice chat, controller support, support for Nvidia GeForce Now, new roles (Knight and Soldier), and a lot more. We'll also finally start getting very detailed lore that Mainframe has so far kept under wraps.
Expect more on these coming updates over time.
