Back in 2023, publisher Fellow Traveller brought us Citizen Sleeper, a sci-fi adventure game with an engrossing narrative and a clever dice mechanic. Now, developer Jump Over the Age is back, with the sequel coming very soon to PS5.
Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector launches on 31st January 2025, continuing the tale of a runaway android harbouring a digitised human consciousness. The game looks broadly similar in the new trailer above, but it has some new systems and features that build on the first one.
The sequel takes place across a larger and more diverse setting, freeing you from just one space station and allowing you to explore several hubs. Meanwhile, a new Push system gives each character class some risky but potentially rewarding new options to consider when you're making choices.
It sounds like the RPG side of the game will be deeper as well, with skill checks along the way and even more branching storylines.
We rather liked the original, so we're excited to see how Citizen Sleeper 2 improves on the concept when it arrives next month.

I thought the dice mechanic in the first game was pretty boring, but the narrative had me hooked. Looking forward to this game.
I never played the original due to lack of language variety, I hope this improves that.
