If you're waiting for the launch of Marvel Rivals on PS5, you may be pleased to learn that the premium battle passes you buy will not have a time limit, as confirmed in a recent dev blog.
The free-to-play multiplayer hero shooter launches 6th December, 2024, and as with most games of this type, it has a couple of ways for fans to spend some money, if they choose.
While Marvel Rivals has a premium currency (Lattice), it can only be spent on cosmetic items with no gameplay benefit, so there's no pay-to-win skullduggery here.
Also standard are two tiers of battle pass. The free battle pass allows you to unlock costumes and other items without spending a penny, while the premium (Luxury) battle pass features more and rarer items to unlock.
Fortunately, if you do purchase a Luxury battle pass, you can earn all its rewards without worrying about any time limits. Once you own a Luxury battle pass, it won't expire, meaning you can get everything from it regardless of what the current in-game season is.
It does seem as though you won't be able to purchase previous Luxury battle passes in later seasons, but if you do buy them when they're current, they won't suddenly vanish when a new season begins.
The season 0 Luxury battle pass will cost 490 Lattices, equalling roughly $5/£4. Because this launch season is about half the duration of typical seasons, this price is about half of the norm, meaning Luxury battle passes from season 1 onwards will cost around $10/£8.

It's always nice to see live service games adopting this practice of letting you complete battle passes at your own pace. Various other games do it, such as Helldivers 2, and it's always appreciated.
