The month of January 2025 sees the return of Arlo in , one of the leaders of Team Rocket that you can beat for rare rewards. Using the same team from the event from previous months, Arlo has familiar Pokémon you may know how to defeat already. However, new counters can make this battle even easier, allowing you to pave your way to Giovanni faster.
Before challenging Arlo, you must collect Mysterious Components to build the Rocket Radar by defeating six different Team Rocket Grunts. For example, beating the Ke Ke Ke Ke Grunt in will give you one of the parts you need. Unfortunately, you only have a 33% chance of running into Arlo, as the Radar could also lead you to Sierra or Cliff, other leaders of Team Rocket.
Arlo's Pokémon are Shadow Pokémon, which are stronger variants than normal pocket monsters you may be used to battling. These Pokémon are organized into three waves, with the first wave always having the same Pokémon every time. However, the second and third waves have one of three possible Pokémon, making it hard to determine what team you should use against Arlo.
Pokémon GO's Holiday Part 2 Event will be here soon, so it's a good idea for trainers to catch up on a guide so they know what to expect.
