With the much-awaited series nearing its release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has come out to shed light on whether Tatiana Maslany’s will be making an appearance in Season 1.
Charlie Cox’s horn-wielding vigilante first crossed paths with Jennifer Walters in the MCU in She-Hulk Episode 8. With Daredevil now returning to the small screens, fans are wondering if the two crime-fighting superheroes may encounter one another once again. In a recent discussion, Dario Scardapane addressed this concern, providing viewers with a definitive answer regarding She-Hulk’s potential inclusion in the series.
According to Scardapane, Daredevil is canon in the MCU and already has an established lore in the franchise. However, the renowned producer has explicitly stated that Daredevil: Born Again will neglect several such events, including the brief meeting between She-Hulk and Cox’s character.
Talking about the series with SFX magazine, Scardapane stated, “We establish a very specific Daredevil, both in terms of his dilemma, down to the suit and where we’re picking him up in his life” (via GamesRadar+).
He continued, “You can say that Daredevil is canon in the MCU, those other events [in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk] happened, but some of them we are not leaning into. His one-night stand with She-Hulk may be one of those things.”
As such, it seems highly unlikely that fans will be able to see the romance between Jennifer Walters and Matt Murdoch, first established in She-Hulk, blossom in Daredevil: Born Again. The show’s official trailer also showcased the titular superhero sharing some intimate moments with Margarita Levieva’s Heather Glenn, who could be a new love interest for Hell Kitchen’s favorite superhero.
