While I don't celebrate it myself, I'm all about scoring some sky-high savings from an annual lunar celebration. EA and Capcom seem to be leading the charge here with some ≥80% discounts on PC titles. In retro news, I've baked a large America-shaped birthday cake for Cruis'n USA, an early N64 arcade racer that's turned 27. This was uncomplicated wannabe 3D Outrun stuff—select one of seven muscle cars and then race against time through the checkpoints of 14 different courses. Honestly, this was only really memorable for its rockin' soundtrack, some decent 2P split racing, and a bunch of censorship decisions enforced by Nintendo. Seems they weren't fans of the ability to roadkill wildlife, a bikini-clad pornstar handing over trophies (shirt Photoshopped in), and also this weird secret ending with Bill and Hilary Clinton partying in a hot tub. Different time, folks.
