My son has been wanting to set the PS2 up mainly to play the old WWE games problem is we only have Smart TVs with HDMI inputs. I have read that there are PS2 to HDMI converter boxes and cables out there. I am wondering if anyone has used any of them and can suggest one.
@Tasuki I use different converters for N64, SNES, NES, MegaDrive and they work fine but keep in mind that your experience can vary
Through trial and error, I picked the ones that suit each console the best.
Unfortunately, I do not own a PS2 yet BUT if there is a special dongle like you said «PS to HDMI» use that first. I have Wii to HDMI one and it work great on a smart TV!
A PS3 FAT BC model is always an option, but expensive and hard to find one
@Tasuki my tv is a bit old so I can connect my PS2 directly through component, but yes there is PS2 to hdmi and also component to hd. just remember to manage your expectations about the picture quality.
recently I played some PS2 games on a 14" CRT and it was very nostalgic, felt like a warm and cozy blanket!
@Zuljaras Yeah unfortunately I don't have the money nor the time to track down an original PS3. I do have a slim model which I use for PS One games.
@CthulhuFhtagn Yeah a CRT would be ideally but those are so hard to find nowadays, even my local thrift stores have stopped carrying them. I do see on pop up on places like Craigslist and offer up but they always want to much for them.

We ran out of HDMI sockets on that (it has 4 but we've got a PS5, PS3, Evercade and a Roku Express occupying those) so we had to get a component cable to connect the PS3 (same cable as the PS2, I think)
@sanderson72 Do they even sell flat-screen with component inputs anymore? That might be a
